EDISON - A state trooper has been sentenced to one year's probation in the case of the high-speed escort.

Nadir Nassry pleaded guilty to leading an unauthorized high-speed escort of sports cars down the Garden State Parkway last year. Nassry admitted he used black electrical tape to change the numbers on his patrol car and license plates.

He and another trooper both quit after their roles in the so-called "death race" were revealed.
