TRENTON - Some Democrats wonder if Gov. Chris Christie's trip to Mexico Wednesday is less about business development and more about beefing up his foreign policy resume before a possible 2016 presidential run.

"Raising money for Republican candidates, raising his profile, vetoing bills that will hurt him in Iowa and Arkansas, things like that that hurt the state of New Jersey," says State Sen. Ray Lesniak. "Governor, forget about running for president. Come back to New Jersey. We have plenty of problems that we need to deal with."

Lawmakers return to work from their summer break next week.
