EDISON - At least two agencies are investigating the closure of a travel agency in North Jersey that may have left many travelers in a lurch.

The Better Business Bureau, and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs are looking into what happened at the Club ABC travel agency.

The travel agency offices went dark this week, and many travelers couldn't get a response when they went to check on trips they had paid for.

Some travelers who wanted to speak to someone in person went to the offices of Club ABC, but found the company appeared out of business.

The Department of Consumer Affairs reported that the company, which has been in business since 1966, did not file for bankruptcy.

State officials are currently investigating the incident.
