State, county inspectors check up on Jenkinson's boardwalk

POINT PLEASANT - State and county inspectors invited the media today to Point Pleasant to see them in action as they checked up on amusements at Jenkinson's boardwalk.

Inspectors examined the mini-basketball game and found that the rims were the correct level and large enough for the basketballs. The boardwalk received a written warning about its "Krazy Cans" game. Inspectors say that the rope near the game could be considered an obstruction. They say the ropes around each platform will have to be removed.

Prizes on the boardwalk were also tested for lead and restaurants were examined by the health department.

The owner of Jenkinson's was given a heads-up about the inspections beforehand.
