JERSEY CITY - Police are looking for two suspects who they say shot the baseball coach from St. Peter's University in the leg during a robbery attempt on campus this morning.

Police say the two men approached the victim, who News 12 New Jersey has learned is baseball coach Sean Cashman, inside a parking garage on Montgomery Street.

A female security guard managed to thwart the robbery, but not before Cashman was shot in the leg. He was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

A spokeswoman for the university says fall classes haven't started and the campus was nearly empty during the time of the shooting.
