Apple Crumb Pie Crust:
1/2 c shortening
1 1/3 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
4 tbs ice water

6-7 apples, peeled, cored and chopped
1/2 c sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbs flour

Crumb Topping:
1/2 c sugar
3/4 c flour
1/3 c butter

For the Crust:
*In a pastry blender or food processor, blend shortening flour and salt until it resembles peas.
*Add 1 tbs water at a time and mix until dough ball forms.
*Form dough into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate while preparing apples.

For the Filling:
*Combine apples with dry ingredients and toss to coat evenly.

For the Topping:
*Using your hand mix butter into sugar and flour until crumbs form.

*Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

*Roll out crust, place into pie dish and flute the edges.

*Fill crust with apples.

*Sprinkle crumbs on top.

*Bake for 40 minutes or until crumbs are golden brown.
