WOODBRIDGE - Former Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand is receiving a special gift.

American Properties and other companies are donating time, materials and supplies at little cost to the LeGrand family to rebuild and reconfigure the paralyzed football player?s childhood home in Woodbridge to allow him more freedom and mobility.

The mother of a childhood friend of Eric?s works at American Properties and touched base with the company president, who put the plan into motion.

"I just got to keep on thanking the people that are doing this for my family and I," said Eric LeGrand. "It means the world to us."

Currently, Eric and his mother live in an apartment in Jackson. The new home is expected to be ready for the LeGrands in a few months.
