SOUTH PLAINFIELD - Saturday marked the one-year anniversary of the South Plainfield house fire that killed five.

The fire swept through a home on Clinton Avenue, killing 62-year-old Ann Jefferson and four of her grandchildren, ranging in age from 2 to 12 years old. The mother of the children, Natalie Jefferson, and her son Jordon were among those who were able to escape the fire.

A makeshift shrine now stands where the house used to be. The family says they still don't know the official cause of the fire, and that they continue to weigh their legal options.
