TOMS RIVER - Today, the rings inside a Toms River White Castle were not just made from onions.
A couple married this afternoon at the fast food restaurant after winning country radio station Thunder 106's third annual White Castle wedding contest.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Sarno, who have been together for more than five years, admit that it took some convincing for their parents' blessings.
"It turned out nice," said Victoria Geremonte, mother of the bride. "She's happy. That's all that matters."
The newlyweds won the all-expenses paid wedding by giving reasons as to why they should be married at a "castle" to Thunder 106. The bride, Jessica, says the off-beat service fits her personality.
"Why not? We like White Castle," she said.
"We're unconventional people, we needed an unconventional wedding," said Anthony Sarno.
White Castle hosts similar contests at its other restaurants across the country.
