Some turning to health food stores for flu shot alternatives

LINDEN - It's that time of the year again, flu season.

While many people around the Garden State have been getting their annual flu shot, some are heading to local health food stores in search of an alternative.

Geoff Haverstock, of Clear Light Natural Foods in Linden, says products such as silver and olive leaf, which apparently helps in boosting immune systems, have been flying off their shelves.

Haverstock says many natural products don't have any negative reactions with other medications, but suggests everyone should consult with a doctor first.
