METUCHEN - Today's election was expected to have a low turnout. However, News 12 New Jersey spoke with the town clerk in Metuchen who said more than double the usual number of people turned out by mid-day.

The larger-than-usual turnout could have been because NJ Transit trains were not running properly and many voters couldn't get to work, but it could also be a sign that residents want to be involved.
