TRENTON - As Gov. Chris Christie tries to shine on the presidential stage, his detractors in New Jersey have another complaint about him.

Some Democrats and liberal groups say the Republican governor should step down because he's not able to focus closely enough on his home state.

State Sen. Ray Lesniak is expected to introduce a bill soon that would force Christie to resign from office since he's running for president.

The governor has said he is in touch with New Jersey issues and can make decisions remotely.

So far this year, he has been out of the state an average of two to three days a week.

Last week, a Monmouth University poll found that the majority of voters in the state thought he was more concerned with his political future than governing New Jersey.
