ORTLEY BEACH - Friday's snowstorm caused an ocean breach in the Ortley Beach section of Toms River, flooding Route 35.

The ocean breached near Second Avenue, through a large gap in the dunes. It then flowed under a condo and spilled out onto the street.

Police blocked off the road. Toms River Police Chief Mike Mastronardy says property owners who haven't agreed to build a strong dune system should cooperate to avoid this type of flooding in the future.
