MANALAPAN - New Jersey neighborhoods hummed with the sound of snow blowers and the scrape of snow shovels one day after a major storm hit the state.

The storm was followed by bitter cold temperatures and below freezing wind chills, assuring that the snow won't be melting quickly.

In Manalapan, digging out at the Catalano residence was a family affair. "I think it's cool because we usually don't get a lot of snow," says Oliva Catalano. Her brother Mat(t?) agrees. "It's fun, but two hours and you're freezing.”
