EDISON - Snow and frigid temperatures have made for tough travel across the Garden State.

State officials asked everyone to stay at home if possible today. Anyone who must be on the road is urged to reduce speed, use extra caution and be prepared for slick road conditions.

Most of the state's major roadways are clear, but side streets and secondary roads remain slippery.

New Jersey Transit has announced that it is cross-honoring all tickets through the end of the day.

According to the aviation tracking website FlightAware.com, more than 300 flights arriving and departing at Newark Liberty International airport were canceled today. Travelers are urged to check with their airlines before heading to the airport.
