Snooki's ball drop moved to Jersey Shore

EDISON - MTV New Year's Eve Times Square ball drop featuring "Jersey Shore" star Snooki has been moved to Seaside Heights after objections from organizers.

The plan was to put the diminutive reality show star inside a giant ball and lower the ball from MTV's Times Square headquarters.

The Times Square Alliance quashed the idea.

The giant ball with a lit "Snooki" sign will now be dropped near the Seaside Heights home where the show is filmed.

Sources say the stunt will be taped tonight and air tomorrow during MTV's New Year's Eve special.
