HACKENSACK - Northern New Jersey authorities say a small plane made an emergency landing on Route 80 eastbound in Hackensack in the express lanes today.

The plane, operated by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, landed near the Green Street exit. The office says that the single-engine plane was headed for Teterboro Airport, but was forced to land on the highway due to a clog in the fuel line. A law enforcement officer and a flight instructor were on board, but no injuries were reported.

The aircraft was removed from the roadway with a flatbed truck, which took the plane to Teterboro Airport.

Federal aviation authorities say they are investigating.
