BEDMINSTER - A small plane crashed this evening at Somerset Airport in Bedminster.

Authorities confirm that both occupants on the single-engine plane were injured when the aircraft crashed.

FAA spokeswoman Holly Baker tells News 12 New Jersey that the plane crashed around 6 p.m. as it "landed for unknown reasons" at the airport. Baker explained that the plane was short of the runway and that both passengers were taken to the hospital.

Baker says the cause of the crash is under investigation.
