VERNON - Skiers in New Jersey took advantage of a holiday-weekend gift. Eight inches of fresh powder fell on the slopes in Hidden Valley in Sussex County.

News 12 New Jersey spoke with skiers that said that it's easier to ski on the freshly fallen snow. Skiers also said that many of their children are on winter break, so they were eager to hit the slopes.

Many ski resorts usually rely on manmade snow toward the end of the winter season, so real snow was an added bonus.
