Six Flags Great Adventure set to open Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom
JACKSON - You’ll have to wait a little while longer to take the plunge on what Six Flags Great Adventure is calling the world's tallest and fastest drop ride.
Riders from near and far were supposed to get a preview of Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom this morning at the theme park in Jackson. However, state inspectors are still reviewing paperwork and haven't granted an operating permit.
Members of a military field artillery unit based at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst were among the riders invited for the special ride.

Riders will be hoisted 415 feet in the air and dropped back to the ground at 90 mph. Adding to the thrill is that the park's Kingda Ka roller coaster trains will hurl toward riders on Zumanjaro at speeds of up to 128 mph.
The three-41-story towers will feature gondolas for eight riders.
Park officials say it’s unclear when the state will clear the ride to open to the public.
