DELRAN - The sister of a Delran Township woman accused of scamming relatives and friends out of cash, meals and even a wedding by falsely claiming to have bladder cancer is speaking out.

Lisa DiGiovanni helped raise the cash for her sister Lori Stilley after Stilley falsely claimed on Facebook she had bladder cancer. DiGiovanni and supporters rallied behind Stilley, raising more than $10,000.

DiGiovanni says she became suspicious when Stilley claimed in November 2011 that she was feeling better and believed a "miracle" was coming.

DiGiovanni says she feels "betrayed" by her sister's actions. "I really think she's sick and that she needs help. I can't imagine anyone in their right mind doing that," DiGiovanni said, adding "People are really out there sick, and she's pretending to be sick."

The county prosecutor has charged 40-year-old Stilley with one count of theft by deception. They say the case should go to a grand jury in the next six to eight weeks. That will determine whether or not the case goes to trial.
