METUCHEN - A sinkhole is causing trouble for some commuters in Middlesex County.

Borough officials say one westbound lane on Route 27 near Main Street has been shut down.

Officials warned that drivers can expect "significant westbound delays on Route 27." Postings on the borough's Twitter and Facebook pages advise to avoid the area entirely.
