WALL TOWNSHIP - Up to a foot of snow is expected in areas along the Jersey Shore.

Authorities urged residents to stay home Tuesday as icy roads caused accidents throughout Monmouth County.

The bridge connecting Belmar and Avon was closed earlier in the day after a crash.

The elevated surface made it difficult for tires to get traction. It was shut down while crews worked to plow and de-ice it.
