Shoppers sickened at department store in Secaucus (12/21/15)

SECAUCUS - Authorities are trying to determine what made some shoppers so sick a department store in northern New Jersey had to be evacuated.

A hazmat crew was called to a Kohl's store in Secaucus around 9 p.m. Sunday after some shoppers became nauseous. Officials say at least a dozen people were affected.

Shoppers say that something "in the air" caused people to become ill. Emergency crews were treating shoppers at the scene. It wasn't immediately known if anyone was taken to the hospital or when the store reopened.

Officials say there is no indication of a gas leak. An investigation is continuing.
