SUMMIT - The snowfall did not make it easy on holiday shoppers across the state, but the weather may have boosted traffic at local small businesses.

Patty Perry, of Wool and Grace, says it's much easier for customers to park and walk around town rather than travel to various strip malls.

There was still plenty of foot traffic around stores in Summit in the earlier hours on Saturday, despite the wintry weather.

However, as the day went on and the snow became more aggressive, the holiday shopping tapered off, merchants say.
