NEWARK - Two men were killed during gunfire last night in New Jersey's largest city, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.

Authorities say the victims, Ishmael Bowers, 34 and Reginald Wilson, 28, both of Newark, were shot multiple times outside a bar near 303 Sherman Ave. around 9:30 p.m. Both men were taken to University Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

Officials have not released the names of the victims.

Police ask anyone with information regarding the shooting to call the Department's 24-hour "Crime Stoppers" anonymous tip line at 877 NWK-TIPS (877 695-8477) or NWK-GUNS (877 695-4867).
