MONMOUTH BEACH - On Tuesday morning Monmouth Beach Police received a call that sharks were spotted.

The officer responding to the call spotted the sharks and took video of about six. The 3-to-4-foot sharks were swimming about 10 feet offshore.

The sharks were swimming by themselves at the time, and no people were in the water.
There is still no word on exactly what kind of sharks they are.

According to experts in published reports, the ocean in that area is a long, flat plain, meaning sharks have a large habitat and plenty to eat.
