RED BANK - A community welcomed home Sgt. Lauren Connelly who was back in New Jersey just in time for her big brother's 30th birthday. 

They met for the first time in almost a year at a restaurant in Red Bank Monday. 

It was supposed to be a surprise, but Charlie Connelly says he knew she was home.     

The siblings say they are best friends. 

Lauren has served two tours in Afghanistan as a combat medic. She says the homecoming has been "absolutely incredible." 

Charlie also served in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Lauren Connelly is home for a month and says she's not sure where she'll wind up next.
