VAUXHALL - Firefighters spent parts of this morning battling a fire that ripped through a two-family home in Vauxhall.

The fire broke out at a home on Russell Street. Flames poured through the second-story roof in the back of the home. Officials say the family who owns the home was living upstairs and escaped. They say two men who rent the downstairs part of the home also escaped unharmed thanks to smoke alarms.

Officials are still investigating the fire.
