Sender Neftali Villatoro Reyes accused of killing girlfriend, Lucenay Fermin Gallegos in Freehold

FREEHOLD BOROUGH - The boyfriend of a woman allegedly murdered while the couple's 3-year-old child was at home has been arrested in her death.

Sender Neftali Villatoro Reyes, 24, is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 31-year-old Lucenay Fermin Gallegos, according to Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

Police responded to the third-floor Freehold Borough apartment at approximately 2:15 a.m. Friday and found Fermin Gallegos deceased.

The toddler was asleep in an adjacent room, Gramiccioni says.

An autopsy showed that the Fermin Gallegos was strangled and the death was ruled a homicide.

Villatoro Reyes is being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $1 million bail with no option to post 10 percent.
