JERSEY CITY - The Department of Transportation was forced to close a section of the New Jersey Turnpike from the Holland Tunnel to Route 139 westbound for emergency repairs Tuesday.

All lanes from the tunnel to the Newark Bay-Hudson County Extension were closed for a few hours to repair a sink hole, according to the New Jersey State Police.

The DOT reopened all the lanes much earlier than intially expected.
