NEWARK - According to the Acting Essex County Prosecutor, Robert Laurino, the second suspect in the killing of a transgender woman in Maplewood has surrendered.

Alrashim Chambers, 23, of Newark, and Marquise Foster, 25, of North Plainfield, are both charged in the murder of 28-year-old Victoria Carmen White, of Newark. Chambers surrendered to Newark police late Sunday night. He was transferred to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark today, where he is being held on $1 million bail.

Foster surrendered with an attorney on Saturday night to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office in Newark. The date for their first appearance in court has not been set.
