NEWARK - Authorities in Essex County say that a second man wanted in connection with the shooting death of a Rutgers student in Newark remains at large.

Charges have been filed against Fraynned Ramirez, of Hartford, Connecticut, in the death of Shani Patel on April 10. According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Ramirez is not in custody and is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Officials say that Ramirez and Marcus Feliz shot and killed Patel inside the student’s off-campus apartment on Central Avenue during an apparent robbery. Patel’s roommate was also injured.

Feliz was arrested on April 13 and is being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility.

The Essex County Sheriff’s Crime Stoppers Program is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading an arrest.
