NEWARK - A second man has been arrested in an alleged plot to kill the mayor of New Jersey's largest city.

Newark police say Jerry Jordan isn't currently facing charges related to the plot against Ras Baraka. But they say the matter remains under investigation and charges could be filed.

The 65-year-old New Brunswick man was arrested Friday on an open and unrelated warrant. The arrest was announced Monday, and it wasn't known if he's retained an attorney.

Jordan had been sought since Wednesday, when Baraka's office learned of the alleged plot. They have said a caller reported hearing two people dressed in camouflage at Newark Penn Station discussing a plan to kill Baraka.

Officers canvassed the area around Penn Station and soon saw the men on Market Street. Kenneth Curry was soon captured, but authorities say Jordan fled on foot.
