SEA BRIGHT - City officials in Sea Bright are working to increase borough property taxes.

Sea Bright Borough Mayor Maria D. Fernandez is reportedly drafting an ordinance that would fine property owners who fail to take care of their homes and yards.

"I think it's fabulous," said borough business owner Francis Rooney about the proposal. "It's the best news I [have] heard in ages about Sea Bright."A similar ordinance is also in effect in Red Bank.
