NEWARK - Hazy, hot and humid weather swept through the Garden State for a third consecutive day today.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says temperatures reached the mid to upper 90s for most parts of the state this afternoon.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection issued a statewide air quality alert. The alert indicates that air pollution concentrations within the state may become unhealthy for sensitive groups including those with respiratory diseases such as asthma, young children and the elderly.
