FORDS - A school bus driver had to be rescued after losing control of the bus and striking a tree.

The accident happened at around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on Main Street near Kilfoyle Avenue in Fords.

No students were on the bus at the time of the crash.

The driver was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital to be treated for several injuries, including some broken bones. He is expected to survive.
