TOMS RIVER - A school bus crashed into three parked cars yesterday in the parking lot of Toms River High School North.

Toms River police say the driver, 61-year-old Barbara Revel, was in the lot waiting to pick up kids. Revel told police the brakes failed as she moved up in the parking lot. She says she lost control of the vehicle and struck the parked cars.

There were no students on the bus at the time of the incident. Revel was taken to Community Medical Center for treatment of minor arm pain.

Police say Revel was issued a summons for careless driving.
