School bus hits 15-year-old in West Milford

WEST MILFORD - West Milford police say a 15-year-old was hit by a school bus full of children on Macopin Road early this morning. He was waiting for his bus along the road in the fog and rain. Cops say the cause was likely poor visibility. The fog was so thick that a medivac couldn't fly and an ambulance dispatched to help the boy was involved in a separate crash while responding to the scene. Police say the boy was taken to Morristown Memorial Hospital where he is in stable condition. They say no children on the school bus were injured, but the driver was taken to a hospital. The victim is a sophomore at West Milford High School. People that live along the windy roadway say they are sad, but not surprised by today's accidents.
