School bus dropped 5-year-old off at empty home

LONG BRANCH - The family of a 5-year-old girl is livid after she was dropped off at an empty house on the first day of kindergarten by her school bus driver. Stephanie Lind says her daughter, Taleha, was supposed to be at the KLC after-school program at Gregory Elementary School. The Superintendent of Schools says a teacher made a mistake and put her on a bus. Lind says when she wasn't at the bus stop waiting for her daughter, the bus driver said he would take the girl to her house where should could wait for her mother. The girl was later found sitting under a tree, crying for her mother. The general manager of the bus company said the driver's aide was fired at the request of the school district. The bus driver, who has 13 years of experience, was put on probation and no longer drives for schools in Long Branch.
