ROSELLE PARK - Rained poured down on one Roselle Park community, soaking the soil and causing many residents' basements to flood.

Storm drains can't handle the sheer volume of water and many are backed up, sending water into the street and into homes.

Doug Orlando was caught off-guard and is trying to prevent damage to his home. "Thankfully, the furnace is on the high side, and it's up on blocks," he says. "But I want to catch it before the water heater goes out. I didn't have enough time to really move anything."

Police barricaded several roads that were deemed unsafe.
