LAWRENCE - Three teens were killed and a young driver is charged with driving under the influence after a violent crash in Lawrence Township early Thursday.
Samantha Belliveau, 18, of Hamilton, and Nicole Rodriguez, 20, of Yardville, were killed instantly when the 2001 Volkswagen GTS, driven by Luis Delcid-Cardona, 19, of Hamilton, slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer that had pulled over on I-95 just after 1 a.m. Police say 19-year-old Jonathan Rivas, of Princeton, was riding in front and suffered serious head injuries. He died yesterday afternoon.
Delcid-Cardona fled the scene of the crash on foot, but was arrested 30 minutes later at a Lawrence home. He is charged with vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident and drunken driving.

Friends of the victims took to social media yesterday afternoon to organize a vigil to take place tonight at 8 p.m. at Steinert High School in Hamilton.
