PISCATAWAY - Rutgers officials dedicated the new Tyler Clementi Center today in remembrance of the student who committed suicide weeks into his first semester on campus.

The center will develop programs to help young people make the transition from home to college. The center will also help students cope with bullying and other problems.

Clementi jumped off the George Washington Bridge after an intimate encounter with another man was recorded on a webcam by his roommate. His death made national headlines and opened a dialogue on cyber-bullying.

His parents were present for the dedication.
