Rush to repair roads at the Shore disturbs locals

WALL TOWNSHIP - The rush to repair roads at the Jersey Shore is disturbing local residents.

News 12 New Jersey spotted several construction sites in Wall Township, including 18th Avenue and the Belmar Bridge.

Residents say the road blocks, detours, and traffic are causing headaches. Tara LaPoint, of Belmar, says, "It's a little ridiculous because it makes me a little late for school. I have to keep finding different detours."

Coastal communities typically try to get their road work done as soon as it gets warm, but before the summer crowds arrive. One area many people complained about is in Eatontown. Specifically, they say the construction on Route 36 is a nightmare.Route 36 is the road many take to get to Monmouth Park Racetrack, Pier Village in Long Branch and several beaches, including Monmouth Beach and Deal.
