JERSEY CITY - Firefighters fought a three-alarm row house fire in Jersey City Friday.

The fire in a two-story house on Winfield Avenue was reported at around 8 a.m. It quickly spread to an adjacent house.

There are no reports of injuries, but seven people have been left without a home.

The Red Cross has helped five of them with food and shelter, and the others found a place to stay on their own.

The fire has since been knocked down. Jersey City fire officials have not released any information on the cause.
