ASBURY PARK - Just when you thought it couldn’t get any colder, some people voluntarily hopped in the frosty waters off Asbury Park today.

The sixth annual Rotary Club of Asbury Park Polar Plunge took place Saturday afternoon at the Sixth Avenue beach in an effort to raise money for two charities.

The charities include Rotary Eye Rescue and the Mya Lin Terry Foundation for Pediatric Cancer, in remembrance of a 10-year-old girl that died last year.

“I am freezing, but it's all worth it for Mya,” said Jenna Loeser, of Ocean Township.

Many of those who jumped in the frigid ocean waters say it was an exhilarating experience.
