EDISON - While most of the attention was focused on two Democratic primaries in New Jersey, two major Republican primaries were decided tonight.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney easily cruised to victory in the New Jersey Republican presidential primary. Romney previously clinched the likely Republican nomination following primary wins in May. Romney will face President Barack Obama in the November general election.

In the U.S. Senate race, state Sen. Joe Kyrillos won the Republican Senate primary. Kyrillos will face Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez in November.

On the Democratic side, Rep. Bill Pascrell defeated Rep. Steve Rothman in the Democratic primary in the newly drawn 9th District. In the 10th District, Newark Councilman Donald Payne Jr. won the Democratic primary and special election for the seat vacated after the death of his father, Rep. Donald Payne Sr.
