Roadwork to close Routes 9, 166 in Ocean County over next 3 weeks

TOMS RIVER - Traffic snarls are expected to follow a series of overnight road closures that are planned on routes 9 and 166 in each direction over the next three weeks.

The closures begin Monday night so construction crews can demolish Garden State Parkway bridge decks running over the highways.

Route 9 northbound and Route 166 southbound will be closed in the area under the parkway overpasses.

Drivers will have to use Indian Head Road in the meantime.
