River Vale honors 9/11 survivor

RIVER VALE - Friends in one Bergen County town say they are celebrating life, rather than the death of Osama bin Laden.

Neighbors gave a standing ovation for 9/11 survivor Pasquale Buzzelli as he arrived home from work Monday night. He was surrounded not only by family and friends, but also by nearly a dozen American flags outside his River Vale home.

Buzzelli's wife, Louise, was seven months pregnant as she watched the twin towers collapse on television. She waited hours with family and friends before hearing her husband would be coming home. Now, nearly 10 years and two kids later, she says the show of support means just as much to her as it does to her husband.

Pasquale still works for the Port Authority and believes he was on the 22nd-story when the tower collapsed. He was knocked unconscious and suffered some broken bones, but he was able to go home that night.
