River Edge emergency worker found dead

RIVER EDGE - The town of River Edge is in mourning after a 37-year-old volunteer ambulance driver was found dead.

Donna Cirino, the mother-in-law of Matt Pellettere, says Pellettere was responding to a squad building on Continental Avenue, but the ambulance he was assigned to had already left. When Pellettere's colleagues returned, they found him unresponsive in the driveway.

The cause of Pellettere's death is still unknown, and police said the incident is still under investigation. To honor Pellettere, the town has set up an education fund to help his two young children, Jessica and Michael.
